DHAKA, Jan 11, 2017 (BSS)- Awami League today began talks President Abdul Hamid on reconstitution of the Election Commission responding to his initiatives to elicit opinions of the political parties on the issue.

A Bangabhaban spokesman said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was leading a 20-member delegation comprising senior party leaders in the talks.

“They (delegation entered the Bangabhaban at around 4 pm to be received by the honourable president,” he said.

Awami League is the last of the parties that takes part in the discussion with President Hamid who last month began the talks with political parties for formation of the new EC as the tenure of the current Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad-led EC expires in February.
