District council chairmen pay respect to Bangabandhu

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2017 (BSS) - The newly elected district council chairmen paid their respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait at Bangabandhu Bhaban in Dhanmodi here today.

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Information and Research Secretary of the party Advocate Afzal Hossain were present during the time.

Earlier, the newly elected 59 district council chairmen took oath at a function at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina administered the oath this morning.

Cabinet members, PM's advisors and leaders of different political parties and senior officials were present.

The LGRD and Comparatives Ministry organized the oath taking ceremony.
