Quader urges party-men to get united for next polls

NOAKHALI, April 21, 2017 (BSS) - Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today urged the party leaders and activists to remain united keeping away from intra-party dispute to win the next general elections.

"People's love is the most important thing for a politician. Mistake can be occurred in politics but a politician must have the mentality to admit his or her mistakes," he said.

Quader, also the minister for road transport and bridges, was addressing a civic memorial meeting on Advocate Mamin Ullah, a former general secretary of district unit and former president of Noakhali Bar Association, at Central Shaheed Minar here.

"Our leader Sheikh Hasina is well informed about everyone (party men). Nomination would be given to the aspirants in the next general polls evaluating their previous reports," he said and called upon them to stop intra-party conflict.

He said devoted and hardworking leaders and workers must get recognition.

"I am the prime evidence to this end," Awami League general secretary said, adding that many leaders could not maintain obedience (to Sheikh Hasina) during the period of one-eleven but she did not force them out.
