President for quality education at varsities

DHAKA, July 17, 2017 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today asked the universities to take necessary measures for ensuring quality education.

"Ensure quality of higher education" so that the students can cope with the world competition, the President said as Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) Major General Md Salahuddin Miaji made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban here this afternoon.

Abdul Hamid, also the Chancellor of the university, directed the BUP VC to set up an example of quality education for other universities to follow, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.

The BUP VC expressed gratitude to the President for providing all-out supports to run the institution and also apprised him of the overall activities, including recent infrastructural development, outstanding activities and future plan of the university.

Maj Gen Miaji also informed Abdul Hamid that the BUP would introduce a "Bangabandhu Chair" to carry out research on life and works of Bangabandhu.

The VC sought the President's cooperation and direction in running the university activities properly.
