Shishu Academy organizes essay competition on Sheikh Russell

DHAKA, Aug 12, 2017 (BSS) - Bangladesh Shishu Academy on Friday organized an essay competition for the children on Sheikh Russell, youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Similar competitions are being held at all branches of the academy across the country marking 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu.

Students from Class I to X participated in the competition held at Bangladesh Shishu Academy in the capital on Friday afternoon.

The essays written by the children focused on the childhood of Russell, his birth, and brutal assassination of his family members, including father Bangabandhu and mother Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib.

Prize distributions will be held on the National Mourning Day on August 15, Shishu Academy Director Anjir Liton told BSS. The essay competition was organized as part of its five-day programme, he said.

The other programmes marking the day include drawing competition and extempore speech competition.
