Press Appellate Board formed

DHAKA, Sept 19, 2017 (BSS) - The government today formed a three-member Press Appellate Board with Bangladesh Press Council chairman Justice Mohammad Momtaj Uddin Ahmed as its ex-officio chairman.

The rest two members of the board are joint secretary (Press) of the ministry of information and Press Council member and the Daily Shamokal Editor Golam Sarwar, said an official release.

The board was formed as per the Printing Presses and Publications (Declaration and Registration) Act, 1973.

Press Appellate Board disposes of appeals filed against any decision of a concerned district magistrate on giving declaration of a newspaper as per the Printing Presses and Publications (Declaration and Registration) Act, 1973.
