State-owned entities must do businesses: Mustafa Jabbar

GOPALGANJ, Jan 06, 2018 (BSS) - Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar today said state-owned entities must do businesses overcoming the limitations.

"Private operators are doing businesses using our frequency and bandwidth so why couldn't we (government entities) do businesses . . . I will find out the problems and there is no reason to become failure," he added.

"My believe is that we can do businesses if we can rightly address the problems," said the renowned ICT personality, who was appointed as a minister on Tuesday, after paying tribute to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara.

Mustafa Jabbar placed floral wreath at the mazar of the Father of the Nation and offered Fateha.

He told local media that digital Bangladesh is now a reality and the dream will be fulfilled by 2021. "We will continue our works to build a knowledge-based society and developed country by 2041."

BTRC Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmood, Gopalganj Zila Parishad Chairman Chowdhury Emdadul Huq, District Awami League General Secretary Mahabub Ali Khan and Tungipara Upazila Parishad Chairman Gazi Golam Mustafa, among others, were present.
