DHAKA Jan 9, 2018 (BSS) - Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister AKM Shajahan Kamal today said the number of passengers have increased both in domestic and international routes as the people's financial capacity improves in the country.
The newly appointed Civil Aviation Minister made the remark while addressing a function at a city hotel on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of private airlines Novoair.
He said many international airlines are now choosing Bangladesh as their flight destination.
Appreciating the role of Novoair, Kamal said he came to know that Novoair has become a symbol of passengers trust and they are contributing to the country's economy as a regular taxpayer.
He hoped that Novoair would add more services to ensure passengers' comfortable journey.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary SM Ghulam Farooque said the government has taken various initiatives to further develop the country's aviation sector.
He said the government will provide necessary supports to Noboair to address the challenges it faces. "Together we can move ahead," he added.
Private carrier Novoair completed five years of operations with a pledge to offer better services by adding more aircraft and destinations.
"Novoair has always given priority to its customers' safety and security, comfort and on-time departure," said Novoair Managing Director Mofizur Rahman.
Minister Kamal unveiled Novoair's first in-flight magazine 'Novoneel' at the function.
Managing Director and Chief Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Abul Kalam Azad and Editor of Prothom Alo Matiur Rahman were, among others, present at the magazine unveiling ceremony.
