Ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia route resumes

MANIKGANJ, Jan 11 (BSS)-The ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed today after 6 hours of suspension due to dense fog.

Mohiuddin Rusel, Manager Commerce, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) of Paturiaghat, told BSS that the ferry movement was suspended from 4am to 10 am due to poor visibility.

About 500 vehicles, including passenger buses, trucks and cars remained stranded at Paturia and Daulatdia ghats, Rusel said.

All of 18 ferries loaded with vehicles and passengers were stranded on both the sides of the river. The ferry movement resumed at 10am with disappearance of the fog, he added.
