Country to see massive change if AL remains in power: Zabbar

DHAKA, Jan 11, 2018 (BSS)-Bangladesh will witness a massive change if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina remains in power for five more years, said Posts, Telecommunication and ICT minister Mostafa Zabbar.

"I don't think 2018 is the last year of this government . . . if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina can lead the nation for five more year, she would be able to change the look of the country Significantly ," said the minister while speaking at the opening ceremony of a three-day Smartphone and Tab Fair at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BCCI) here today.

State minister of ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the event as special guest.

Famous brands such as Samsung, Techno, Xiaomi, Huawei, LG Smartphone, Oppo, Nokia, Lenovo, Winmax and Micromax are participating in the fair.

Participating companies are offering discounts and prizes on their different products at the fair.

Mostafa Zabbar said more smartphone and tab fair will have to be organized in the country. "I hope that such fair will be organized in all eight divisional cities in 2018," he added.

Terming the present government as technology friendly one, Mostafa Zabbar said 10 percent export incentive will be given to hardware, software and service and such incentive will be increased in the next budget.

State minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the government has brought down tax on 94 equipments for the development hardware industry and expressed the hope that earnings from this industry will cross $5 billion mark by 2021.
