Khaleda paying for her misdeeds: Inu

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2018 (BSS) - Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, today said Khaleda and Tareque Zia were not victims of political vengeance, rather they were paying for their misdeeds.

"The trial of Khaleda and Tareque was a victory of truth and a warning to the corrupt people," he said while addressing a programme arranged marking the World Radio Ray at Jatiya Betar Bhaban in the city's Agargaon area.

Describing the broadest of Bangabandhu's 7th March speech as an act of valor, he said, "Those who had fought with arms in hand were freedom fighters and who fought in the airwaves were the sound-warriors."

The minister said the theme of this year's radio day is "Sports Broadcasting" that devolves on the broadcast fraternity the responsibility for popularising sports.

Describing Bangladesh Betar as a centre of Bengali culture, he said "It speaks for the nation and its people with responsibility".

Referring to the role of the mass media, the minister said "It is not their responsibility to create sympathy for criminals but to expose them. It has to remain vigilant against criminals so that they remain outside of politics and power."

Marking the day, a colorful rally was brought out from the Betar Bhaban in the morning.
