Vote revolution against BNP in KCC: Nanak

DHAKA, May 16, 2018 (BSS) - People of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) casted their votes on Tuesday in a silence revolution against BNP's arson attacks, evil politics and anti-state conspiracies.

"It's a silence revolution against BNP and its arson attacks, evil politics and anti-state conspiracies," Awami League Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak said while distributing food items among the poor on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan at a community centre at Adabar in the city.

Bangla-German Harmony organised the food distribution programme with its vice president Professor Nurul Islam in the chair.

Among others, local Ward Councilor Nurul Islam Ratan, social welfare officer M Shahiduzzaman, co-president of the organization Tarique Al Kahody, Abdull Aziz Al Bakaly and Nabil Al Kahody spoke on the function.

The social organization distributed rice, lentil, sugar, edible oil, salt and dates among 1,000 extreme poor people on the occasion of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Nanak said the present government has been implementing various social safety net programmes for the privileged section of people aimed at improving their lifestyle.

"The government allocated Taka 3,167.88 crore for the safety net programme in the last financial year and brought 51.20 lakh destitute people under it," he said.

He urged the people to take the country forward under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership with development and progress.

Nanak assured the local people to stand beside them always.
