Ant-liberation forces in public jobs to be identified: Shajahan Khan

DHAKA, May 16, 2018 (BSS) - Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan today said the Jamaat-Shibir men and anti-liberation forces in government jobs hatching conspiracies should be sacked.

"The Jamaat-Shibir and the anti-liberation forces in government jobs hatching conspiracies against the government and the liberation war spirit need to be identified," he said while speaking at a views exchange meeting on 'Saving the Liberation War Spirit and the Six Point Demands' at CIRDAP auditorium here.

Sramik Karmachari, Pesajibi Muktijoddha Samannoy Parisad, International War Crimes Gonobichar Movement and Muktijoddhar Santan and Projonmo Samannoy Parisad jointly organised the programme with joint secretary of Sramik Karmachari, Pesajibi Muktijoddha Samannoy Parisad Rokeya Prachi conducting.

Among others, lawmaker Shirin Akter, Justice Shamsuddin Ahmed Manik, security analyst Major General (retd) Abdur Rashid, former vice chancellor of Jahangir Nagar University Professor Anwar Hossain, secretary general of Sector Commanders Forum Harun Habib, Sammilita Sangskritik Jote President Golam Kuddus, Chairman of Suchinta Foundation MA Arafat, general secretary of Muktijoddha Chetona Bastyabayan Manch M Abdul Malet Miah, freedom fighter Ismat Kadir Gama and freedom fighter Sultan Ahmed spoke on the occasion.

The minister said the government is not against the quota reformation, adding, "We have no objection for recruiting meritorious students in the government jobs. We have reservations for children of rajakars and anti liberation forces in government jobs."

He said Jamaat-Shibir workers were involved in quota reform movement and those who created anarchy and vandalism and spread killing news in the name of quota reform movement would have to be brought to book.

Shajahan Khan said the Jamaat-Shibir cadres vandalized properties by arson attacks on Dhaka University Vice Chancellor's residence with wearing masks at night recently.

"The attackers would have to be brought to book for ensuring exemplary punishment," the minister said.
