Rangpur to become hub for int'l standard education: Ranga

RANGPUR, Jan 3, 2017 (BSS) - State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Alhaj Mashiur Rahman Ranga here today said that the city of Rangpur would become a hub for international standard education in future.

"The private sector entrepreneurs should come forward in setting up more and more international standard educational institutions in Rangpur to provide quality education to the students to turn the city into an educational hub in the whole region," he said.

The state minister said this after inaugurating Prime School and College, Rangpur (PSCR) at Ideal Mour on the RK Road by releasing pigeon in a colourful ceremony arranged on campus of the educational institution as the chief guest.

Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hasan Ahmed and noted social worker Rakiba Nasrine addressed the ceremony as the special guest with Chairman of PSCR Professor Dr Akkas Ali Sarker in the chair.

Vice-chairman of Prime Group Limited Shahadat Ali Sarker, Vice-principal of Prime Medical College Dr QB Fazlul Baki and expatriate Bangladeshi IT Consultant in the United Kingdom Engineer Mahbub Rabbi, also spoke.

The stare minister said that Bangladesh already achieved epoch-making success in the education sector, like in every sector, during the past eight-year period under the able and visionary leadership of Prime Minsiter Sheikh Hasina.

"Side by side with the government initiatives, the private sector entrepreneurs should set up and run international standard schools, colleges, universities, technical, vocational and other educational institutions to ensure quality education at all levels," he said.

He asked authorities of the newly launched school and college to widen its reputation in the international arena by properly flourish latent talent of the students by providing them with time-befitting science- and ICT-based modern education and knowledge.
