DHAKA, Mar 16, 2017 (BSS) - Children, participating in a painting
competition in the city today, got an inspirational exposure to know more about Bangabandhu, the history of Bangladesh and the country's war of liberation.
They were encouraged to imbue with the spirit of the War of Liberation and groom themselves as worthy citizens of the country by following the ideals of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The competition organized to mark Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's 97th birth anniversary and National Children's Day, was held with participation of school children at Rajarbagh police lines.
Liberation War Museum of Bangladesh Police (LWMBP) arranged the painting competition for children. Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque was present as the chief guest and distributed prizes among winners.
Chaired by Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police (Establishment) and President of the LWMBP Habibur Rahman, the function was inaugurated by Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Asaduzzaman Miah.
Some 60 children from eight educational institutions--Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, Shiddeswari Girls School and College, Willes Little Flower School and College, Motijheel Ideal School and College, Motijheel Government Boys' High School, Motijheel Girls School, Central Government School, Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College and Shaheed Police Smrity School and College-- participated in the event in two groups.
Member secretary of the organization Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police Abida Sultana conducted the function.
Earlier, the IGP AKM Shahidul Hoque joined the annual sports competition and cultural event organised by Shaheed Police Memorial College on its premises.
