KHULNA, April 18, 2017(BSS) - State Minister for Fisheries and Live Stock Naryan Chandra Chanda here today said cultural revolution can prevent militancy across the country.
He said Rabindranath and Nazrul literature can combat militancy and terrorism and build a non communal society.
He was addressing as the chief guest at the preparedness meeting in observance the 156th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore and 118th birth anniversary of Kazi nazrul Islam, at the conference room of the deputy commissioner.
Khulna district administration organized the meeting with DC Nazmul Ahsan in the chair.
Additional deputy commissioner (General) Zahangir Hossain, Presidents of Khulna city and district unit Muktijoddha Command Council Professor Alamgir Kabir and Sarder Mahbubur Rahman, President of Khulna Union of Journalists (KUJ) S M Zahid Hossain, General secretary of Khulna Shilpokola Academy Mokbul hossain Mintu, Educationist Sadhan Ranjan Ghosh, additional Police Super Asaduzzaman, among others, spoke.
A total of 11 sub-committees including an advisory committee led by Finance Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Moshiur Rahman, was formed in the meeting aiming to success the program.
Marking the birthday of Rabindranath, three day long programme will be held at Daxindhi in Phultala upazila, father-in-laws' house of Rabindranath and Pithavoge in Rupsha upazila, ancestral home of the poet.
The program will be inaugurated at Rabindra Complex in Daxindhi, around 4.00pm on May 8, the first day of the three-day program. The programmes include discussion meeting on different topics, cultural function, drama, poem recitation, folk and Rabindra Fair.
Bsides, two day programmes have been taken on the birth anniversary of poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. The programme will begin on May 25.
The program includes art competition at Umesh Chandra Public Library, and discussion, poem recitation, song, dance, musical soiree and drama at Khulna Officers Club.
Educational Institutions also would chalk out programmes marking the birth anniversary of two great poets.
