DHAKA, September 4, 2017 (BSS) - The health condition of eminent poet Belal Chawdhury is stable.
"The health condition of my father is stable now...There was nothing to worry about it," Abdullah Protik Chowdhury, eldest son of the poet, told BSS this afternoon.
"Doctors said he had an infection at stomach. He is now out of danger, but under observation," he said.
He was taken to Anwar Khan Modern Hospital in city's Dhanmondi area on Eid day with stomach complications. Currently, he is undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
Belal Chowdhury is one of the powerful poets of the 60's. He is also a prominent article writer, and translator. He had long been served "Bharat Bichitra" as its editor published from Indian embassy in Dhaka.
He was also an editor of the 'Saptahik Sandwip'. He also served Krittibas, a Bengali poetry magazine, edited by Sunil Gangopadhyay while he was residing in India.
