Teletalk to provide technological supports for fertilizer management

DHAKA, August 10, 2017 (BSS) - State-owned mobile operator Teletalk Bangladesh Limited will provide all sorts of technological supports to the Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) to ensure transparency in fertilizer management.

In this regard, a corporate memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed today between Teletalk and BCIC at the industries ministry conference room in the city, said a press release.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu and State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Division Begum Tarana Halim were present at the MoU signing ceremony while BCIC Secretary Hasnat Ahmed Chowdhury and Teletalk Managing Director Kazi M Golam Kuddus signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.

Under the MoU, Teletalk will provide all services, including voice, SMS, MMS and mobile tracking, to BCIC at low prices for expediting the fertilizer monitoring activities of BCIC.

Teletalk will also track all transportation activities of fertilizer import on the way of sea from mother vessels to dealer vessels.

In the function, Amu said the technological supports of Teletalk will play a vital role in the fertilizer management.

He suggested Teletalk to sign MoU with the other state-owned organizations too for enhancing productivity.

Tarana Halim said Teletalk is playing an important role to expand the mobile communication network across the country.

"Teletalk has already created an example in mother empowerment by distributing 10 lakh SIMs among mothers across the country," she added.

Among others, Industries Secretary Mohammad Abdhullah and BCIC Chairman Shah M Aminul Haq attended the signing ceremony.
