Rain, thundershower likely

DHAKA, May 11, 2017 (BSS) - Rain or thundershower accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places in 24 hours to 9 am tomorrow.

The Met Office said this in a press release today adding that weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country. Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's highest temperature on Wednesday was recorded 35.8 degree Celsius at Khulna and minimum temperature was recorded 22.2 degree Celsius at Rajarhat in Rangpur. The highest rainfall was recorded 4 millimeter at Rajarhat in Rangpur.

Meanwhile, a warning message of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said, "Rain or thundershowers temporary west or north-westerly squalls at speed 60-80 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Dinajpur, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, Comilla and Sylhet wherein riverports shall hoist riverine warning signal number two".

The sun set at 6.32pm today and will rise at 5.17am tomorrow in the capital city Dhaka.
