Rain, thundershowers likely

DHAKA, May 15, 2017 (BSS) - Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Barisal divisions in next 24 hours commencing from 9 am today.

Day temperature may fall by 1 to 3o Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a Met Office press release here.

Meanwhile, a warning message of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said in association with rain or thunder showers temporary west or northwesterly squalls speeding 60-80 kph is likely to occur over the regions of Chittagong and Cox's Bazar wherein river ports shall hoist riverine warning signal no two by this afternoon.

Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary west or northwesterly gusty or squally wind speeding 45-60 kph is likely to occur elsewhere over the country wherein river ports shall hoist cautionary signal no one, the message added.

The sun set at 6.34 pm today and will rise at 5.16 am tomorrow in the capital city Dhaka.

Country's highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 37.0 degree Celsius at Satkhira in Khulna and minimum temperature was recorded 22.0 degree Celsius at Kumarkhali in Khulna, Barishal, Madaripur in Dhaka and M. Court in Chittagong respectively. The highest rainfall was recorded 117 millimeter in Sylhet.
