Met office predicts rain in parts of country

DHAKA, May 17, 2017 (BSS) - Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Chittagong division and at a few places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barisal, Dhaka, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions in next 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, a met office press release said today.

Country's highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded 35 degree Celsius at Khepupara in Barisal and minimum temperature was recorded 23.4 degree Celsius at Tangail.

The highest rainfall was recorded 68 millimeter at Sandwip in Chittagong.

Meanwhile, a warning message of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said, "Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary west or north-westerly gusty or squally wind speed 45-60kph is likely to occur over the country wherein riverports shall hoist cautionary signal number one."

The sun set at 6.35pm today and will rise at 5.15am tomorrow in Dhaka.
