RANGPUR, March 26, 2015 (BSS) - Speakers at a ceremony here have said the nation can never reimburse the debt it owes to the freedom fighters (FFs) but it must show due honour to them for upholding real spirit of the War of Liberation.
Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) organised the ceremony at RCCI auditorium on Wednesday to accord warm reception to three valiant FFs for their extra ordinary contributions and heroism during the War of Liberation in 1971.

Mozammel Haque, Tarapado Chandra Barman and Abul Hossain of the district in the ceremony for their extra ordinary contributions and heroism.
A video film was also screened in the ceremony on the three valiant
freedoms fighters demonstrating the heroism while taking part in the War of Liberation in liberating the nation from the clutches and occupation of the Pakistani army.
Commander of Rangpur district unit of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad and former RCCI President Mosaddek Hossain Bablu attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
RCCI President Mostafa Sohrab Chowdhury Titu presided over the ceremony also participated by the valiant freedom fighters, teachers and students of different educational institutions, executives and directors of RCCI, civil society members and media workers.
Senior Vice-president of RCCI Mostoba Hossain Ripan delivered welcome speech narrating the heroism and contributions of the three freedom fighters in liberating the country through snatching away independence for the Nation.
The speakers said the freedom fighters presented an independent country without thinking anything in return while they were fighting against the well-trained Pakistani occupation forces to liberate the country in 1971.
They asked all concerned for upholding the true spirit of the War of Liberation through building an exploitation-free non- communal Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The nation will remember the contribution of the freedom fighters for ever as they liberated the country from the clutches of the Pakistani occupation forces and brought independence, freedom, dignity and pride for the nation, they said.
The chief guest said that the nation can never reimburse debt to the freedom fighters, the best sons and daughters of the soil, and must pay due honour to them during their lifetime to uphold spirit of the War of Liberation.
