Bangladesh mission in Delhi to celebrate Bangabandhu's birthday

NEW DELHI, March 13, 2017 (BSS) - Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi will celebrate the 97th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 17.

The High Commission officials said they chalked up a number of programmes for the celebration which include children's art and essay competition, recitation of poetry, storytelling and screening of films.

During the event messages to be issued by the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and the State Minister for Foreign Affairs on the occasion would also be read out while Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Moazzem Ali would deliver his speech, they said.

Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on March 17, 1920 and was killed in a predawn military coup on August 15, 1975.
