Opponents of Genocide Day to be dubbed as traitors: Hasan

DHAKA, Mar 13, 2017 (BSS) - Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud today said those who will not observe March 25 as the Genocide Day will be identified as 'traitors' to the nation.

"The resolution for observing March 25 as the Genocide Day or Ganohatya Dibosh has been adopted unanimously in the Jatiya Sangsad ... but the BNP has neither welcomed it nor made any comment on the issue," he said.

The AL leader was addressing as the chief guest a discussion meeting marking birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the National Press Club here.

The meeting was organized by Bangladesh Swadinata Parishad (BSP) with its Advisor Chittaranjan Das in the chair. All European AL General Secretary M A Goni and BSP President M Jinnat Ali Khan Jinnah also spoke.

Dr Hasan said the BNP-led 20-party alliance has become a platform of the anti-liberation forces as most of its leaders worked as collaborators of the Pakistani occupation forces.

The platform of the anti-liberation forces led by the BNP has now turned into a militants' alliance, he added.
