AL to observe 'Genocide Day' on March 25

DHAKA, March 13, 2017 (BSS) - Awami League will observe "National Genocide Day" on March 25 with due respect across the country in remembrance of the brutality carried out by Pakistani Army on the unarmed Bengalis on the black night in 1971.

"A letter signed by Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has been sent to all units of cities, districts, thanas, pourasabas and unions throughout the country asking to observe Genocide Day in a befitting manner," AL office secretary Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap told BSS.

The Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) on Saturday unanimously adopted a resolution to observe March 25 as the "Gonohotya Dibos" (Day of Genocide).
