FARIDPUR, Jan 4, 2017 (BSS)-All preparations are complete for holding the three-day Biswa Ijtema, the biggest congregation of Muslim devotees after the holy Hajj, in Faridpur district from tomorrow (Thursday).
According to organizers, the Ijtema is being held here as part of a decision of the central Ijtema authority this year to hold the congregation in 32 districts out of the total 64 across Bangladesh to avoid heavy rush of devotees and others hazards at the central Ijtema venue at Tongi on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka.
Various service departments, including LGED, PHE, PDB, WDB, Faridpur Pourasabha, Fraidpur Upazila Parishad, and law enforcement agencies, have made all necessary arrangements for the Ijtema on Adampur ground.
Sources concerned said nearly 1.40 lakh devotees are likely to take part in the congregation.
While visiting the Ijtema ground on Tuesday it was found that hundreds of labors were engages in making sheds, latrines, toilets and cook sheds and sinking of tube-wells for drinking purpose and other service providing activities.
The official sources told BSS that there will be one each road for entering and leaving the Ijtema venue.
Faridpur Police Super Shubhash Chandra Saha said necessary preparations have been made for resolving traffic congestion during the Ijtema.
