Three held with drugs in C'nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 7, 2017 (BSS)-Personnel of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC), in two separate drives, in Gomostapur upazila of the district on Friday arrested three alleged drug traders and recovered 130 bottles of phensidyl and one kg hemp.

The arrested were identified as Md Bishu, 32, son of Korban Ali of Hujrapur area under Rohonpur Municipality, Kazirul, 30, son of Abdul Latif of Santaspur area of the same municipality and Surovi, 28, daughter of Moslem Uddin of Miapara village of the upazila.

DNC Inspector Elias Hossain Talukdar said they conducted a raid in Belalbazar area under Kansat union and arrested Bishu and Kazirul with 130 bottles of phensidyl.

He said the arrested were handed over to Gomostapur police after filing a case.

Later, the DNC personnel carried out another drive and arrested Surovi with one kg hemp. Arrested Surovi was produced before a mobile court which sentenced her to six months imprisonment.
