Bodies of 3 trawler capsize victims recovered in Jhalokhati

JHALOKHATI, Jan 10, 2017 (BSS) - Police recovered the bodies of three missing victims from Bishkhali and Sugondha rivers in Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning, four days after they went missing following a trawler capsize.

Three passengers had gone missing around 7.30 am on Friday after the trawler sank in the Sugondha river following a collision with a steamer.

The deceased are Razzak Mollik Raza, 32, and Alam Jamadder, 35, residents of Penabalia village in Sadar upazila and Taslim Uddin, 50, of Deuri village of the upazila.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station M Mahe Alam said a trawler carrying 11 passengers capsized in the Sugondha river near the Kheyaghat in Sadar upazila after being hit by a Khulna-bound steamer, leaving three passengers missing.
