Seminar on Digital Bangladesh held in Khulna

KHULNA, Jan 11, 2017(BSS) - A seminar on 'Digital Bangladesh', a special initiative of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was held today at the auditorium of Khulna Circuit House in the city.

Khulna district administration organized the seminar with the cooperation of information and communication technology (ICT) department.

Khulna Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Ahsan addressed the seminar as the chief guest and Khulna police super Nazmul Haque Molla addressed as special guest while assistant programmer of Rupsha upazila Md.Abuzor Rahman in the chair.

Exhibiting multiple development pictures of the present government, assistant programmer of Rupsha upazila administration Md Abuzor Rahman presented power point, saying that implementation of Digital Bangladesh, a special election pledge of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now seeing in every sector across the country.

Terming development fair inauguration by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through video conference was an important example of ICT development; he said adding that attaching of mass people in digital system application in every sector is a wonder to the world.

Describing facilities of digitalization, Abuzor Rahman, informed that at least 120 million people use mobile phone and country's 58 ministries, 227 department and 18,130 government offices under 64 districts and 487 upazilas has connected with optical fiber.

E-agriculture, E-office management and ICT based business and trade have changed as usual livelihood in last few years, he said, adding that video conference system is running at 800 point across the country.

He also said government has taken huge initiative for women empowerment and huge women become self reliant through outsourcing.

The government will be trained at least 1.66 lakh women about ICT in next three years through mobile van, he added.

Later, Khulna Police Super Nizamul Haque Molla presented a power point presentation about digitalization in Police department.

Describing varieties activities of Police, he said people can now take service from police through using help line apps of BD police.

Government officials, public representatives, leaders of civil society and journalists, among others, were present in the seminar.
