Govt declares Mar 22 public holiday in Gaibandha by-polls

DHAKA, Mar 20, 2017 (BSS)- The government has declared a public holiday on March 22, the voting day, in the areas which constitute Gaibandha-1 constituency for the convenience of the electorates, according to a notification issued here today.

The public holiday meant for enabling the officers and employees of the government, semi-government and autonomous bodies and the teachers, officers and employees of all public and private educational institutions within the Gaibandha-1 constituency to exercise their right of franchise.

The notification said the holiday will not be effective for those teachers and employees and centres of public examinations, if any, within the constituency on the polling day.
