KHULNA, Aug 13, 2017 (BSS) - A monthly meeting on law and order of Anti Terrorism and Anarchy Committee was held today (Sunday) at the conference room of Khulna Deputy Commissioner (DC).
The meeting has been informed that law enforcement agencies activities are continuing to resistance terrorism and militancy and mass gathering will be held in every month at union and upazila level for building awareness against terrorism and militancy.
The meeting decided to launch an immediate drive against criminals, listed terrorists, extremists and militant groups to destroy their dens and to take legal action against unlicensed motorbike drivers.
Three separate mobile courts have been conducted by KMP, KCC and BRTA to control illegal and unfit vehicles plying on the streets, said police and RAB officials.
Narcotics Department conducted 18 mobile courts and filed 19 cases against 22 people, said officials of the department, adding that among them, six have been awarded punishment in different terms and fined Taka 15 thousand.
Deputy Commissioner Nazmul Ahsan advised to exercise cultural activities at their respective clubs and urged everybody to motivate young generation for physical and sports exercise.
Khulna Zila Parishad Chairman Sheikh Harun-ur Rashid stressed the need for strong security vigilance ahead of Eid-ul-Azha and urged KCC authorities to speed removal of sacrificial animal garbage from the city streets.
DC of Khulna Amin ul Ahsan presided over the meeting while Police Superintendent, Additional District Magistrate, UNOs and different government officials of Khulna were present, among others.
