BADC procures 2,100 tonnes of Boro seeds in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, Sept 13, 2017 (BSS) - Contract Growers Office (CGO), a wing of Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) procured 2,100 tonnes of Boro seeds in the district this season.

Officials familiar with the procurement tody said 61.68 tonnes of BR-14 variety, 75.28 tonnes of BR-26, 628.84 tonnes of BRRI-28 and 1334.21 tonnes of BRRI-29 seed variety were collected.

CGO has set target to bring 1720 farmers here under Boro cultivation this year.

Deputy Director of CGO Khagendra Chandra Roy said the Boro seeds were collected from 1,713 registered farmers in the district.

He said farmers got Tk 39 for per kg BRRI-28 and Tk 38 for per kg other varieties of Boro seeds.
