RANGPUR, Jan 11, 2018 (BSS) - Speakers at a discussion today said Bangladesh has become a role model of development by achieving laudable successes during the past nine years on its way to become a developed country by 2041.
They came up with the observation in a post-rally discussion organised by the district administration after inauguration of the three-day 'Development Fair- 2018' at Public Library ground in the city.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the fair nationwide through video- conferencing from the capital city with the slogan of 'Role Model of development, Sheikh Hasina's Bangladesh.'
Secretary in-charge of the Ministry of Environment and Forests Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury attended the discussion as the chief guest with Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Wahiduzzaman in the chair.
Divisional Commissioner Kazi Hassan Ahmed, Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Khondker Golam Faruk, Police Super Mizanur Rahman, Acting President of district Awami League Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju President of city AL Shafiur Rahman Shafi and its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal addressed the event as special guests.
The chief guest narrated huge successes achieved in every field of developments, including digitisation, ICT and IT sectors, saying the country is moving effectively toward a middle income nation to become a developed country by 2041.
Earlier, a colourful rally was brought out in the city streets with participation of officials and employees, public representatives, students, teachers, civil society members, socio-cultural and political activists.
