Pahela Boishakh celebrated amid festivity in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, April 15, 2018 (BSS) - Pahela Boishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year 1425, was celebrated here with much enthusiasm and traditional festivities as elsewhere of the country.

People from all walks of life wearing traditional and colorful dresses poured into a grand rally organized by Faridpur district administration and paraded the main street "Mujib Sarak" of the town on the occasion.

Different socio-cultural organizations and educational institutions, associations of professionals have joined the rally in jovial atmosphere.

Faridpur district administration, Police administration, Faridpur Pourashava, Faridpur Ladies Club, Officers Club, Sammilito Sangskritik Jote, Muktijoddha Sangsad, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi,Khelaghor, Rabindra Sangeet Sammilon Parishad, Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Govt. Girls School, Faridpur Zila School, Saroda Sundori Girls' High School joined the rally, among others.

Faridpur district administration has also organized a cultural function at Govt. Rajendra College Premises. Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives (LGRD) Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain attended the function as chief guest.

Deputy Commissioner Omney Salma Tanzia presided over the function while Superintendent of Police Jakir Hossain Khan and AL President Chandra Saha spoke as special guests on the occasion.

Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi, Faridpur Sahittya O Sangskritik Unnayan Sangstha performed songs, recitations and dances at the program.

Meanwhile, Faridpur Sahittya O Sangskriti Unnnayan Sangstha welcomed the Pahela Boishakh arranging a musical program and performed " Esho Hey Boishakh, Eso Eso" as the day's first program at Swadhinata premises of judge court of the town.

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain also attended the function as chief guest and greeted all the people for celebration of Bangla New Year.

Besides, Faridpur Officers' Club, Faridpur Ladies Club arranged different programs on the occasion. A three day "Boishakhi Mela" also has been arranged at Judge Court premises.
