Div II Football kicks-off in city

DHAKA, Jan. 11, 2017 (BSS)- The Saif Powerteck 2nd Division Football League began today at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city's Kamalapur.

Saif Powerteck Managing Director Tarafdar Ruhul Amin formally inaugurated the league as the chief guest.

Bangladesh Football Federation vice president Mohiuddin Mohi, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag, and metropolis league committee's president Harunur Rashid were also present in the inaugural ceremony.

A total of 12 teams are competing in the single league basis league, sponsored by Saif Powerteck.

The top two teams in the points table will be promoted to the first division league while the bottom-ranked team will be relegated to the third division league.

The participating teams are; Azampur Football Club, Uttara, East and Club, Purbachal Parisad, BG Press, Prantik Krira Chakra, Tongi Krira Chakra, City Club, Shantinagar Club, Little Friends Club, Nawabpur Krira Chakra, Samaj Kalyan Krira Sangsad, Mugda and Kasaituli Samaj Kalyan Parisad.
