CUMILLA, Oct 25, 2023 (BSS) - A total of 820 small and marginal farmers in Daudkandi upazila of the district were given seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agriculture incentive under the incentive and rehabilitation program for cultivating various crops including wheat, maize, mustard, sunflower, groundnut and lentil in the current Rabi season.
 
Daudkandi Upazila Parishad Chairman Major (retd) Mohammad Ali Sumon distributed the incentives among the farmers at a function held on the upazila parishad office premises this afternoon as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Mohinul Hasan in the chair.
 
To increase the interest of farmers in wheat, maize, mustard, sunflower, groundnut and lentil cultivation, the amount of incentive support has been increased significantly this year in the district, Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Officer Mazhar Ul Alam said.
 
Each farmer was given various crops of seeds, 10 kg of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer and 10 kg of Muriate of potash (MOP) fertilizer free of cost for cultivating one bigha of land.
