PANCHAGARH, April 16, 2024(BSS)-The farmers of the district are happy to see the bumper Boro production in the district here this year. The Boro paddy fields are now covered with green colour as eye looking so far.

The farmers are eagerly waiting for bringing the Boro in their houses. The overall weather condition for Boro paddy production was favorable. The farmers and the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) are expecting the weather will have remain favorable for the farmers till cutting the Boro.
    
The DAE of Panchagarh office sources said that 23,000 hectares of land have been brought under Boro cultivation this season with a production target of 3,35,000 metric tonnes of food grains.

 The department also said that weather condition was favorable, no shortage of diesel, fertilizers, no attack of pest and no load-shedding of electricity, it was the main reason behind the bumper production of Boro paddy.

The DAE also supply quality Boro seeds, fartilizers and others agri inputs among the farmers at cost of free. DAE has imparted training about modern technology to the farmers to boost bumper production.

Farmers are now satisfied over the price of the Boro.
 
Sunil   Kumar of Sadar upazila said he has already cultivated Boro on three bighas of land and expecting to get at least 60 maund paddy from his land.
