MANIKGANJ, Nov, 17, 2024 (BSS) - The harvesting of Aman is going on in full swing in all seven upazilas of the district with a bumper production, the DAE sources said.

 Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) sources said they had fixed a target to produce 71,712 metric tonnes of clean rice from 18,500 hectares of land in the district during the current Aman season.

Official sources said a total of 11462 hectares of land were brought under Aman farming last year in all seven upazilas in the district.

Of the total, some 18,000 hectares of land were fixed for hybrid Aman cultivation, and 500 hectares of land were fixed for local varieties during the current season.
