PANCHAGARH, March 31, 2022 (BSS) - The farmers of the district are expecting a bumper production of boro during the current season amid suitable climatic conditions everywhere in the district.
The boro plants are growing very good in all five upazilas of the district. Now, the boro fields are looking adorned in green colour.
The farmers have been busy and passing their time for nurturing boro
plants with the hope of bumper yield.
The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) official sources said, there is no shortage of fertilizers, adequate water supply and no pest attack as far the department is doing hope bumper production.
A total of 46,000 hectares of land have been brought under Boro cultivation in all five upazilas with the production target of 3,72,000 tonnes of fresh rice in this season, the sources added.
The Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) distributed high quality Boro seeds, fertilizers and other agriculture inputs among 200 farmers at free of cost to make the cultivation programme a success.
Different commercial banks including Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank also
distributed easy term loan to the farmers.
The field level officers are monitoring the Boro fields and they are giving necessary instruction to the farmers for boosting bumper production.
