RAJSHAHI, June 9, 2022 (BSS) - A total of 25 grassroots farmers were given reception as recognition of their laudable contribution to the fields of crops, livestock and fisheries in the region.
On behalf of their National Agriculture Technology Program (NATP-2) Project, the ministries of Agriculture and the Fisheries and Livestock hosted the reception ceremony supported by World Bank, IFAD and GOB here today.
Around 100 officials and staff along with the 25 farmers consisting of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Department of Fisheries (DoF), Department of Livestock (DLS) and NATP-2 attended the function held at the conference hall of Fruit Research Station (FRS) in Rajshahi city.
The 25 farmers were from different areas in 16 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and their successes were highlighted before the audience on the award-giving ceremony titled "Innovative Farmers' Consultative Workshop".
In the meeting, many of them also depicted their success attained through painstaking efforts in addition to the best uses of modern technologies and devices provided on behalf of the NATP-2.
NATP-2 Project Director Motiur Rahman addressed the ceremony as chief guest, while FRS Principal Scientific Officer Dr Alim Uddin, DAE Director Azharul Islam Siddique, DoF Senior Assistant Director Abdul Wadud Mondal and DLS Director Nazrul Islam spoke as special guests.
Harun-Ur-Rashid, Training and Communication Specialist of NATP-2, welcomed the participants with DAE Additional Director Shamsul Wadud in the chair.
