Entrepreneurs urged to come forward for building smart Bangladesh

RAJSHAHI, Dec 23, 2022 (BSS)- Entrepreneurs, including the women ones, have to come forward to build smart Bangladesh as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to build the same by 2041.

Bangladesh's economic development will flourish besides attaining the cherished goal of building smart Bangladesh through generation of new more entrepreneurs along with their vibrant activities.
 
The observation came at the opening ceremony of a four-day 'entrepreneur’s conference and products exhibition at Shishu Academy premises here today.

Bangladesh Entrepreneurs Development Foundation (BEDF) organized the conference aimed at expansion of marketing scopes of entrepreneurs' products through promotion of marketing systems.

Around 68 entrepreneurs both male and female are taking part in the fair showcasing varieties of household items including ladies and gents wear, cosmetics, fashion items and modern ornaments.

Deputy Commissioner Abdul Jalil addressed the opening ceremony as chief guest, while Additional Deputy Commissioner Joya Maria Perera and Deputy General Manager of BSCIC Zafar Bayazid spoke as special guests.

BEDF Rajshahi Divisional Convener Laila Nasrin and its district unit president Sharmin Akter Jui also spoke on the occasion.

Abdul Jalil mentioned there is a need for a holistic approach towards expediting the industrial sector including the small and medium enterprises and ensuring a business-friendly atmosphere is very important to encourage local entrepreneurs for revitalizing the sector.
 
He said handlooms and cottage goods signify the true craftsmanship of the Bangladeshi artisans and they  are scattered throughout the country, communities consisting of people who solely depend on their crafts as a primary source of income.
 
He underscored the need for organizing more   such type of fair to protect the handicrafts goods from further diminishing.
 
Abdul Jalil said more expansion of investment to this sector is needed for bolstering the economic condition of both urban and rural areas together with freeing the society from the vicious circle of poverty.
 
Young entrepreneur and organizer of the fair Laila Nasrin told the meeting that the fair has been arranged with the main thrust of bringing all the entrepreneurs under a single umbrella taking the popularity issue of shopping into consideration.
 
Through the fair, the women entrepreneurs have got the chance of attracting the buyers through displaying their innovative products, she added.
 
She also said the fair is intended to create more new women entrepreneurs as many women are doing business.
