Govt needs consistency for maintaining dev spree: Gazi


DHAKA, Jan 4, 2023 (BSS) - Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Birpratik today said the current government needs continuity to continue the development spree of the entire country, including Padma Bridge, Metro Rail and Bangabandhu Tunnel.
 
"Today's development in Singapore or Malaysia has been possible due to the continuity of the government in the countries," said a press release quoting him as saying.
 
He said these while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar titled 'Bangabandhu's Vision on Industrialization in Bangladesh: Opportunities & Challenges for 4IR and Beyond' organised by the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) in the capital.
 
The minister said the tenure of the current government should continue in the days to come for upholding the trend of development, said the release.
 
He called for building a new generation of developed and skilled human resources to face the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).
 
The present government is setting up and running state-of-the-art technical training institutes of various levels and various fashion design institutes to create skilled human resources, he added.
 
The Minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the rightful legacy of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is advancing the country towards the materialization of the dream of Bangabandhu. 
 
 
"The Premier is working relentlessly to build an industrial-rich and advanced 'Sonar Bangla' to this end", he said.
 
"For this purpose, she is making continuous efforts to take Bangladesh to the desired destination of prosperity," Gazi continued.
 
He urged all engineers to be aware of the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.
 
He hoped that all big projects in Bangladesh will be implemented through the country's engineers in future.
 
IEB President Md Nurul Huda, among others, was present on the occasion with IEB Mechanical Engineering Division's Engineer Mohammad Nasir Uddin in the chair.
