National Productivity Day tomorrow

DHAKA, Oct 01, 2023 (BSS) - The National Productivity Day will be observed tomorrow across the country to create mass awareness to raise productivity in all fields, including industrial, agricultural and service sectors.
 
The theme of the day this year is "Productivity for Smart Bangladesh".
 
President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages on the eve of the day, urging to increase productivity for sustainable development and growth.
 
President Mohammed Shahabuddin said implementation of advanced and modern technology-based policies and plans of both public and private sectors can play an important role in increasing productivity and building a smart Bangladesh.

He said the government is determined to build Bangladesh as a happy-prosperous and smart country by 2041.

"That is why it is essential to increase productivity in every sector, including agriculture, industry and services. For this purpose, all the private industries and service organizations of the country should come forward along with the government," he added.

He said that National Productivity Organization (NPO) can play a positive role in this regard by developing industry, creating skilled manpower and raising awareness.

By celebrating the National Productivity Day, Mohammed Shahabuddin hoped that common people will be able to contribute to the development of the country by becoming more aware of the importance of productivity.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her message, said "I am happy to know that the National Productivity Organization (NPO) under the Ministry of Industries is going to observe the 'National Productivity Day-2023' across the country."
 
"The theme of the day 'Productivity for Smart Bangladesh' is time-befitting. Awami League government has started working with the goal of building 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041. Therefore, coordinated activities are being undertaken with the aim of modernizing government management and developing an efficient and transparent management structure," she added.

She said that the government has already formed 'Smart' Bangladesh Task Force'.

The government has been working for becoming an upper middle income country by 2031 and a developed and prosperous country by 2041, she added.

At the same time, she said, the government is determined to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

To achieve the goals, she said, increasing productivity in all sectors is essential. That is why, it is important to raise awareness about productivity among the people, she added.

The Prime Minister said, "I hope that the celebration of National Productivity Day will play an important role in accelerating productivity and development and raise awareness about productivity."
 
She wished the 'National Productivity Day-2021' a grand success.
