DHAKA, Oct 18, 2023 (BSS) - Saudi Lubricants, a brand of the country's one of the leading business groups RFL, has launched a public awareness campaign titled 'Safe Highways' to prevent road accidents.
The campaign, which started on October 11, will continue for six months.
As part of the campaign, Saudi Lubricants will hold rallies at 21 different places of the country on the National Road Safety Day on October 22.
The other events of the campaign include identifying the accident-prone areas and adding it to Google map, training of drivers during the campaign, branding on heavy vehicles with awareness information to prevent road accidents, said a press release.
RN Paul, managing director of RFL Group, gave details about the campaign at a press conference at PRAN Center in the capital's Badda today.
Kazi Rashedul Islam, executive director of Saudi Lubricants, Mir Lutfar Rahman, deputy general manager, Juhirul Islam Shimul, head of marketing, Touhiduzzaman, assistant general manager (Public Relations) of PRAN-RFL Group and Aminur Rahim, deputy executive director of Road Safety Foundation were present.
RN Paul said, "We've launched 'Saudi Safe Highways' campaign to create awareness among drivers and passengers to prevent accidents on highways.
We hope this campaign will play an important role in preventing accidents on the highways and creating awareness among the people concerned."
Kazi Rashedul Islam, executive director of Saudi Lubricants, said, "We've identified the accident-prone areas on the highway with the help of Highway Police, Road Safety Foundation and reports published in various media. We also sought public opinion about the accident prone areas through Facebook posts. Now, we're pinning the accident prone places on Google Maps with the help of Facebook based group BikeBD Community. We've taken this initiative to make all concerned aware."
