DHAKA, Oct 29, 2023 (BSS) - The two-day Investment Exposition to be organized
by the Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), has been
rescheduled on November 19-20 at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden marking its
60th anniversary.
The exposition was earlier scheduled to be held on November 8-9.
According to a press release, FICCI president Naser Ezaz Bijoy said that
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had earlier given her consent for inaugurating
the exposition on November 8 as the chief guest.
But, the Prime Minister is supposed to attend the 'Women in Islam' Conference
to be organized by OIC at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia from November 6 to 8, read
the release.
Under the circumstances, the release also said that the Prime Minister has
given her fresh consent to inaugurate the expo on November 19 in the capital.
The key objective of the exposition is to highlight its contributions,
including policy support, since inception towards developing the country's
economy to ensure an enabling business environment.
There will be two plenary sessions on "Green Value Chain" and "Investment
Climate: Current Landscape and Mission 2041" where industry practitioners and
experts will present their insights.
Two research reports of the chamber - "Catalysing greater FDI for Vision
2041: Priorities for building a conducive tax system in Bangladesh" and "ESG
Excellence: A Chronicle of FICCI Members" -- will also be unveiled at the
event.
Besides, senior government officials, policymakers, diplomats, development
partners, think-tanks, domestic investors and stakeholders will participate
in the exposition.
The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) is the event's
strategic partner.
