SAVAR, Nov 27, 2023 (BSS) - A day-long income tax fair was held today on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.

JU authorities and JU Teachers' Association (JUTA) in collaboration with Tax Zone-11 of National Board of Revenue (NBR) organised the day-long fair at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium of the university.

JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Md Nurul Alam inaugurated the fair by releasing colorful balloons at around 10:30am at the auditorium premises.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, JU VC said, "NBR has initiated a festive tax payment program for university teachers, employees, and Tax Zone-11 taxpayers. I hope it will be continued in the upcoming days. It will also eliminate the hassles of submitting documents of the taxes at Dhaka."

JU Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, Treasurer Prof Rasheda Akhtar, JUTA President Prof Farid Ahmed, dean of various faculties, acting registrar, proctor and Tax Zone-11 of National Board of Revenue, Dhaka Tax Commissioner Rownak Afroze, Additional Tax Commissioner Sadhon Kumar Ray, Joint Tax Commissioner Farzana Nazneen, among others, were present at the fair.
