DHAKA, Dec 4, 2023 (BSS) - The general point to point inflation rate in
November this year slightly eased to 9.49 percent mainly because of the
downtrend in both food inflation and non-food inflation.
The general point to point inflation rate in October last was 9.93 percent,
according to the monthly consumer price (CPI) index of the Bangladesh Bureau
of Statistics (BBS).
The point to point food inflation came down at 10.76 percent in November down
from 12.56 percent in October.
On the other hand, the point to point non-food inflation also declined
slightly to 8.16 percent in November down from 8.30 percent registered in
October.
The BBS data showed that the general point to point inflation in the rural
areas has slightly declined to 9.62 percent in November down from 9.99
percent in October.
However, the general point to point inflation rate in the urban areas also
declined to 9.16 percent in November down from 9.72 percent registered in
October.
The national wage index rate in November reached 7.72 percent up from 7.69
percent posted in October.
