DHAKA, Jan 21, 2024 (BSS) - The grand finale of 8th Global Student Entrepreneurship Award (GSEA) of Bangladesh Chapter contest for the session of 2023-24 of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) was held on Saturday at the Lakeshore Hotel in Gulshan in the city.
Pijush Dutta from Dhaka University won the national competition this year for his business 'ABC Waste Management' and awarded prize money of Taka 10 lakh, said a press release.
He will represent Bangladesh at the global final in Dubai at mid-May in 2024. Prior that he will represent the country in the global quarter final among South Asian countries of Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
Apart from this, Sayed Zuaber Hasan from North South University placed the first runner up for his business 'Krishi Shwapno' and Nafesa Anjum from Bangladesh University of Professionals placed the second runner up for her business 'Ecolery'.
This year Innovation Design and Entrepreneurship Academy (iDEA) of the ICT Department worked as the strategic partner of this competition.
Director General of BIDA Gazi AKM Fazlul Haque attended the event as the Guest of honor. Senior Consultant & Operation specialists of the iDEA of the ICT Division Siddhartho Goushami, MD & CEO of Shombhob Health Ltd Azra Salim, Director of the Olympic Industries Ltd Tanveer Ali and Additional MD of Green Delta Insurance Ltd Sayed Moinuddin Ahmed were in the jury board.
Chair of the GSEA Bangladesh Chapter Sadat Omi gave welcome speech in the program. President EO Bangladesh & MD of Pristine Chem Ltd Zia Uddin, Former President EO Bangladesh & Chairman Apex Properties Ltd Mike Kazi, President Elect & Chairman of the Trade Design Solution Ltd Faatin Haque, MD of the Rangs Motors Ltd Sohana Rouf Chowdhury, MD of Geers Group Ltd Nafees M Khan, among others, were present at the event.
