Mongolia keen to recruit agricultural workers from Bangladesh

DHAKA, Jan 31, 2024 (BSS) - Mongolia has expressed keen interest to take agriculture workers from Bangladesh.

Mongolian non-resident ambassador to Bangladesh Ganbold Dambajav today expressed the keenness while meeting with Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun at his office in the city, said a press release.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues related to bilateral interest.

Welcoming the keenness of Mongolia to take agriculture workers, Humayun said if Mongolia takes skilled agricultural workers from Bangladesh, they will contribute to Mongolia's agricultural sector.

"I visited Mongolia a decade ago. Agricultural products, such as cheese, milk and meat, are excellent in Mongolia, but the population is very less compared to the land," he added.

Ganbold Dambajav said, "Mongolia has no trade with Bangladesh. We can start business in various fields. Our population is only 35 lakh, but we have about 7.5 crore livestock. Horses, camels, cows, sheep and goats are the main among them."

Senior Secretary of the Industries Ministry Zakia Sultana and Mongolian Honorary Consul for Bangladesh Nasrin Fatema Awal, among others, were present on the occasion.
