CHATTOGRAM, June 27, 2021 (BSS) - Newly elected Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) today announced a budget of Taka 2463.96 crore for fiscal year (FY) 2021-22 providing detailed data on its past, present and future action plans.

   Announcing the budget in presence of CCC ward councilors, officials and journalists at Theater Institute in Chattogram, the Mayor freedom fighter Reazaul Karim Chowdhury said no new tax has been imposed in the budget.

   He also declared the revised budget for the 2020-21 fiscal years.

   The CCC budget for the previous fiscal year was Taka2,436.39 crore and it was trimmed to Taka 1,001.36 crore in the revised budget.

   As usual, the highest Taka 293.75 crore has been allocated for salaries and wages which was Taka 230 crore in the previous fiscal year.

   Chairman of the Standing Committee on Finance and Establishment Councilor Mohammad Ismail presented the budget statement with Chief Executive Officer of the CCC Mohammad Shahidul Alam in the chair.

   Panel Mayor Abdus Sabur Liton, councillors Gias Uddin and Afroza  Kalam, CCC Secretary Khaled Mahmood, Chief Revenue Officer Nazrul Islam, Chief Engineer Rafiqul Islam Manik, Additional Chief Accounting Officer Humayun Kabir and Ward Councilors were present, among others, on the occasion.
